AlphaBovine ("we", "us") runs alphabovine.com, the free account that grades the tickers you watch, the alerts that go with it, and the Sunday Prime Cuts delivery. This page says what we collect, where it goes, how long it stays, and how you get rid of it — in plain English, because that is the only version we would want to read ourselves.
What we collect
- Your email address — when you subscribe to the Sunday delivery, or when you create an account.
- Account data — the list in the next section.
- Aggregate analytics — pages visited, country, device type, via Cloudflare Web Analytics. No cookies, no personal identifiers, no cross-site tracking.
- Server logs — Cloudflare serves the site and, like every host, sees the IP address and the page requested for each visit. Those logs stay with Cloudflare, are kept briefly, and we look at them only to debug a fault or an abuse pattern.
Accounts
If you create an account, we store the following and nothing else:
- Your email address and, if you set one, a password. Sign-in is by password or by a one-time email link — your choice. The password is stored only as a hash by our authentication provider; we can never see it, and neither can anyone who reads our database.
- Your watchlist — the ticker symbols you add.
- Alert-channel settings — which channels you switch on, and what each one needs to reach you: nothing extra for email, a webhook URL for Discord, a chat ID for Telegram.
- Alert history — which alerts we have already sent you, so we never send the same one twice.
- Saved setups — the setups you star from the archive.
- Timestamps — when the account was created, when you last used it, and whether and when you opted into the Sunday delivery.
- Which page you signed up from — a setup page, a ticker page, the markets page — so we learn what brings people in.
- An activity log — when you add or remove a ticker, star or unstar a setup, switch a channel on or off, or open the dashboard (one entry per day). We read it only in aggregate — "how many people added a ticker this week" — to decide what to build next. It is never shown to anyone, never shared, and it goes when the account goes.
Account data lives in Supabase (a hosted Postgres provider, US region) and is protected row by row: an account can only ever read its own rows, and that rule is enforced by the database itself, not just by our code. The ticker symbols people add are also used in aggregate — as a bare list of symbols with no account attached — to decide which tickers join the herd we grade.
We take a backup of the database every night and keep each copy for 30 days in private, access-controlled storage (Cloudflare R2). The backups exist so a mistake on our side is recoverable, not for any other use.
Deleting your account is self-serve: the "Delete account" button on your account page removes the account, the watchlist, the channel settings, the saved setups and the alert history immediately. No email to us, no waiting period. Copies in the nightly backups age out within 30 days. Two things it does not touch, because they live elsewhere: your Sunday delivery subscription (see below — unsubscribe from any Sunday email), and anything already posted to your Discord channel or Telegram chat.
We never ask for and never store brokerage credentials, account numbers, positions, or payment details. We cannot place trades and we do not connect to your broker.
Signing up for an account and subscribing to the Sunday delivery are separate choices — the consent box at sign-up is unticked by default, and an account works perfectly well without it.
How alerts reach you
Each alert channel uses a different service, and each one sees exactly what it needs to deliver the message:
- Email is sent through Resend from an alphabovine.com address. Resend also carries the account emails — sign-up confirmation, one-time sign-in links, password resets. Resend sees your address and the message; it does not see your watchlist except as the tickers named in a digest.
- Discord works through a webhook URL you paste in. We post each digest to that URL, which puts it in the channel you chose. A webhook URL lets anyone who holds it post to that channel, so we treat it as a credential: it is stored on your account, never shown back to you, never logged, and never sent anywhere except discord.com. Everyone in that channel will see the tickers you watch.
- Telegram links by you sending our bot a one-time code. We store the resulting chat ID and send each digest through Telegram's Bot API. Telegram sees the message, as it sees every message on its platform.
Switching a channel off on your account page stops the sends. Removing the webhook in Discord or blocking the bot in Telegram works too, from their side.
The Sunday delivery
Sunday Prime Cuts is sent through beehiiv, an email publishing service. When you subscribe, your address goes to beehiiv along with which page of our site you signed up from. Nothing is sent until you click the confirmation email — the address is not on the list until then. Every issue carries an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you from the list at beehiiv. This list is separate from your account, so deleting an account does not unsubscribe you, and unsubscribing does not delete an account.
Stored in your browser
We set no analytics or advertising cookies. The site does keep a few things in your browser's local storage, all of them needed for it to work: the session token that keeps you signed in, a short-lived flag that remembers you ticked the delivery box at sign-up until the address is confirmed, and display preferences such as the dashboard density. None of it is readable by other sites, and clearing site data for alphabovine.com removes all of it (and signs you out).
Third parties on the page
Fonts. Every page loads its two typefaces from Google Fonts. Fetching a font file tells Google your IP address and the page that requested it, the same as loading any file from a third-party server. Google sets no cookie for this.
Charts and market panels. Signed-in pages embed charts and symbol data from TradingView. Those panels load directly from TradingView, which means TradingView receives the address of the page you are on, which widget it is, which symbol it is showing, and your IP address — by their account, to make the widget work. We do not send them your email, your account, or your watchlist, and we do not read anything back out of their widgets. These embeds appear only on pages you have to be signed in to see; the public pages load nothing from TradingView.
Our own charts and data — the setup images, the graded ledger, the market pulse — are served from data.alphabovine.com, which is ours (a Cloudflare R2 bucket). No third party is involved beyond Cloudflare hosting it.
What we don't do
- We don't sell, rent, or trade your email or any other data.
- We don't run third-party advertising trackers, ad networks, retargeting pixels, or social trackers.
- We don't use your data to train models, ours or anyone else's.
- We don't share account data with anyone except the services named on this page, each of which gets only what it needs to do its one job.
Affiliate links
Some outbound links (routed through alphabovine.com/go/) are affiliate links. On our side these are plain server-side redirects — we set no cookies, load no pixels, and pass no personal data through them. Once you land on the destination site, that site's own privacy policy governs, and it may set its own cookies to attribute the referral.
How long we keep things
- Account data — for as long as the account exists. Alert history is not pruned separately; it goes when the account goes.
- Backups — 30 days, then overwritten.
- The delivery list — until you unsubscribe.
- Analytics — aggregate only, never tied to a person, retained by Cloudflare on their schedule.
Your rights
You can delete your account and everything attached to it yourself, at any time, from your account page. You can unsubscribe from the Sunday delivery using the link in any issue. For anything else — a copy of what we hold, a correction, a question — email support@alphabovine.com and we will answer within 30 days. Those rights are the same wherever you live; residents of the EU, UK and California have them in law as well, and we honour them on the same terms for everyone.
We are based in the United States and the services above process data there. Our legal basis, where one is required: your consent for the Sunday delivery and for each alert channel you connect; providing the service you asked for, for the account itself; and our legitimate interest in keeping the site running and abuse-free, for the analytics and the server logs.
Children
AlphaBovine is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, email us and we will remove it.
Changes
We may update this policy. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision; a change that matters to account holders will also be mentioned in the next alert digest.
